Great results at 2017 IRI (Indiana Regional Invitational)
The GreengineerZ had a successful weekend at the Indiana Regional Invitational in Indianapolis, IN.
For the qualifying part of the event the GreengineerZ were seeded 45th out of 68 teams. We won 4 out of the 9 matches we were in. Our team and the robot performed extremely well. Even the best robots in the world were showing their age. This was a long season with a hard hitting game this year.
Our performance earned us the opportunity to be the third team member of the first Alliance. The Alliance consisted of Team 2767 Stryke Force (Saint Louis Einstein Winner), Team 118 Robonauts (Houston Einstein Finalist), Team 3452 GreenginnerZ (Saint Louis Einstein Qualified Team) and Team 1018 Pike RoboDevils (Saint Louis Carson Division Playoff Team).
We advanced all the way to the playoffs and lost in the finals to another great alliance of Team 1619 Up-A-Creek (Houston Hopper Division Playoff Team), Team 195 CyberKnights (Saint Louis Carver Division Finalist), 2590 Nemesis (Saint Louis Archimedes Division Finalist) and Team 1710 The Ravonics Revolution (Saint Louis Carson Division Team). Congratulations to them for winning IRI!

Special thanks to the event host teams (234 Cyber Blue, 45 TechnoKats and 1024 Kil-a-Bytes), their sponsors and the event volunteers for putting on a great event!
The GreegineerZ would also like to thank our regular season sponsors. A special round of thanks is needed for the parents and community members to provided funds specifically for us to attend this event. Non of the team funds collected during regular season were used to pay the entry fee or travel expenses. We did not spend all the funds raised to attend IRI and the balance will be donated to the GreengineerZ general fund for the 2018 season.
